unique clothes. less waste.

The encouragement to explore my creativity when I was younger established the foundation of LMCHOIX. Outfits I put together gave me the creative freedom to express who I was and push the boundaries of my imagination. A trip to the vintage store was an adventure that felt like a treasure hunt. I had an eye for finding diamonds in the rough, even going as far as cutting things up and reinventing them to make them feel new and fresh again. There was something so satisfying and rewarding about adding my personal touches and giving a little TLC to each piece.

Leaving OKC to set upon my dreams of being a designer in NYC, I went on to work in the fashion industry with some of the largest companies. In 2016 after learning about minimalism and low waste living, it hit me that my passion and life work are contributing to one of the largest waste and pollution factors in the world. I was conflicted...I love fashion and strongly believe in living a sustainable life. Was there a way I could fuse my love of art, vintage, fashion, and low waste living?

In 2020 the pandemic took a hit on my day job. With newfound free time on my hands I got inspired and started upcycling again. I realized that what I loved doing when I was younger could be my personal goal or mission statement in life... producing uniquely designed garments and accessories out of thrifted and vintage textiles.  This is how lmchoix was born. Each piece is made from existing materials that were originally headed for landfill.

My inspiration comes from the simplicity and effortless style of French and Scandinavian fashion, mixed with the wild and fun silhouettes and trims of dance culture.

Everything is handmade and upcycled in Brooklyn, New York.

With Love, Lindsay Choi
